Elder Bednar

Well momma, let me just get right to your question.... Well you hit the hammer right on the nail. Yeah...  So I hate asking you for money right now and I dont want you to worry about taking care of me... I never asked President for money or a new suit or anything.. He just saw me at my zone training meeting and he saw how beat up my suit was and told me to buy oa new suit and I told him that I wouldnt ask you for money because  I feel like I should have saved up more money when I was home to be able to buy more stuff while I am here so I just feel sick when I ask you for money. I  Yeahh... Im sorry mom... I dont want you to worry about me... I promise Im doing good! 

Well let me just tell you how this week has been. This week has been nutz!!! I have had like no time to do anything... I have been all over the place hahah... At the begining of the week I was in Berlin from tuesday till thursday and then came to Bremen for a night and then friday afternoon I went back to Berlin to see Bednar and stayed there for the night and then on saturday I came back to Bremen and got back at like 7 and then had like no time to do anything... This last week has been crazy... I am just ready to start a normal week and ready to show my new comp how real missionary work goes. He has been super confused this last little while I feel bad for him hahah. But he is super awesome, he has a good desire to do missionary work and really wants to give his all, so im stoked for that becasue that means I wont have to drag him around and we can just go to town with the work here in Bremen. Something that was really cool though was when I came back and went to church I just kinda assumed that all the members forgot about me but I was really happy to see that all the members here remembered me really really good and where really excited to see me again, well some where some wern't, probably because when I was here last I wasn't the best missionary but I have made some huge changes in my life since then and am a completly diferent person! So im gonna take this chance to make everything right before I go! I mean, how often do I get this chance to come back and make everything right... 

Well Bednar was really really good!!! It was my first time I have ever been in the same room as an apostle. You are totaly right, you can just feel the power when he walks in the room. I was super excited because he is one of my fav apostles!!! The funny thing was, I am taller than he is... I was super suprised, he is a short guy and so is his wife! His wife is super awesome!! It was a little embarrassing at some points because he left some time open to ask questions and some missionaries ask the stupidest questions... Really annoying but there was one funny moment because before he left the time open to ask questions he said that everytime he does this people ask him if he has ever seen him ( Christ) and he told us that, that is a stupid question but then never really said that he hasn't but, the funny thing was... I had that exact question hahahah and a bunch of other missionaries came up to me afterwards and told me that they had the same quesion haha.. 

Well im stoked to hear that everyone is doing awesome... Well I was a little sad to hear how Ethan was doing.. I hope he is doing good. Does he jump in on all of the drills or anything? Maybe you or dad need to go spy or something to see if he is jumping in on everything and is really trying his hardest! I hope he is giving his hardest and that this coach is just another idot becasue I know that Ethan is one of the best players on that team!!! I know he has a lot more to offer than he thinks he does!!! 

Well thats good to know that alyssa is doing sooo good, I have been praying a lot for her lately and I just want her to do be happy. I love my brothers and I know that her and I fought a lot but... She has always been one of my best friends. I just want her to be happy and I know that his gosple can do that... Its crazy the changes someone can see when they just try it! I dont know what it is but for some reason you can just see how people will just start to brighten up when they live the gosple, I saw that with UWE oh and cool news... he is coming to visit me next week because Bremen is not far from Hamburg!!! He is getting married in two weeks!!! Super stoked!! He is gonna get sealed in the temple next year in oct in the Manti temple!! Im gonna be there for that!! :) 

Tell dad to bring it!!! I am undefeated right now on the mission.... Well Elder Hardy doesnt count... But im ready to take dad down!!! Slc Airport jan 7th he is gonna go down!!! 

Momma!!!! I love you so much and just wanted to say thanks again for the support. I can feel the support and prayers you have been sending my way. You coming up with the idea for us to fast has been a huge help to me right now. So thanks for that Momma!

Sept 8

Well momma... Im just gonna hit you with the big news right now! Well, I have been transfered... You're never gonna guess where.... hahahahaha Im going back to Bremen!!!! Super funny, I think this is just president trying to be nice before I go home or something hahaha. I was also released as zone leader this last week and im super stoked about that, President released a lot of his zone leaders this last transfer, he released half of them and I guess I was just one of them. But here is the catch, Im training now, Im also super excited for that, I have never trained before and its gonna be a crazy experience! 
 

 It was super super sad leaving Dresden though... The members here and I were just super super close, they are like really really good friends of mine! There is this one member here in the ward his name is Brother Bartsch and he was like another dad to me! Me and him were really really good friends, where he said good bye to me I could see that his eyes were about to cry but he way trying hard to fight them back... I love that man sooo much and his family! This has probably been the hardest  city to leave on my mission. The kids in the ward here were not happpy about that at all that Im transfered, but I did leave my name tag behind with one of the kids here in the ward, he was super stoked! 

Well this last week was kinda good but, I think that I made a mistake when I told you that Bednar is coming, I ment to tell you that he is coming this week and not last week, so this saturday we will all go to Berlin and see him then! But the week was ok, Tony is doing really good, he is still staying strong with his commintment  to be baptized, he does have some weird questions sometimes but we answering them and just trying our best to keep out lessons as focused as possiable. Something funny though... So when we go to Berlin to visit Elder Bednar, my comp and I will go up a day early and stay the night because it is just too much time to travel and be there at 8 in the morning and then not fall asleep in the train, so I am staying the night at President Kosaks apartment with him!!! He better get ready for the biggest pranks of his life hahahaha!!! I might take him running with me or something, he could use the exercise! ;) 

Well me, Im doing just okay, im getting a little nervous becasue pres said that Bremen will be my last city before I go home, like im gonna train there for two transfers and then one as a normal missionary before I go home, Im excited for everything but just the fact that, this is my last city of my mission is just a little nerve racking ya know. I can for sure see a difference with your prayers and thank you sooo much for the support you have been giving me! I do feel the same way as you do and I do think that there is one last big thing that I need to do before I go back home, if its training this guy and turning him into a missionary baptizing matchine or to find that last person that I was suppose to find before I go home, whatever it is i'm gonna keep my eyes open for every chance I have to make a difference! I know that the lord needs me in Bremen and I know there is something there for me to do and to change! 

Well becaue you shared something that you have learned about the gospel I will share something will you from what I learned this week. Well  becasue Elder Bednar is coming he gave us these talks to study before he comes and one of them is about application. The whole talk is about seek learning by faith. It was really cool becaue in 2 nephi 33:1 we learn that the holy ghost can bring the message that we need to learn unto our hearts but not into our hearts, we just have to be willing let our hearts be open for the message by being always prepared to do what the spirit tells us. But just letting the spirit bring the message unto our hearts is not enough, just like reading in the scriptures is not enought or just going to chruch is not enough but, we have to actually do what it says in the scriptures or how often do we go to chruch and hear what we need and then think its good and dont apply that to our daily life. In the scriptures we learn that faith without work is dead, so what that means is that if we dont apply the things that we hear then we don't actualy learn anything, just like the purpose of this life is to gain experiences and to learn form that, it is also the same with the gospel and how we decide to live it! :) 

Well, enough of being preachy for today hahahah. Well, I hope ethan played like a champ last week... I know if he doesnt prove himself soon then its gonna be too late. Okay, this coach sounds like the biggest idiot ever... What the heck is he thinking, I can understand that if someone on your team did something stupid you can punish him later like next week at practice or something but in the middle of the game..? Well, should I email Ethan and try to get the whole story??

Im stoked for Alyssa, thats great! It sound like she is the biggest news of the week hahahah! I love to hear that she is making all these big changes in her life and that she is getting on wes case too, he kinda needs a kick in the butt to get him on the right track or something! What... She wants to have a kid??? Im gonna be an unkel!!!!!! ( Sorry that's german spelling... Forgot in English...) hahahah! 

Well, just make sure that all the projects are done before Brady gets home hahahah..... just kidding I will help out too if you need help when I get home! Tell dad I miss him too, I miss him sooo much, I know back at home he sometimes doesnt know how to express himself to me but I always felt a really really big connection between me and him! I miss him like crazy!!! 

Well momma, let me just say, I miss you like crazy too! I hope you find out soon what is gonna happen with this whole job thing and stuff.. Well momma I just want to thank you sooo much for everything your doing for me while im out here, I have really grown to appreciate my family, I love you soo much momma and thank you sooo much for helping me get my butt out here to serve this mission! I love you all!!!

Sept 1

MOMMA!!! Wow this week was really really really good! Thank you sooo muc for your prayers! I could see the huge diffference that it made this week. We had a huge miricale this week! Ahhhh, well I think I told you a little bit about Tony, our new investigator. Well this last week we invited him to Baptism, and guess what, he said yes! Yahoo, we are soooo stoked, we are finally starting to come out of this drout! Well, we put him on date for the 20th of september, and i think he is gonna make it. He really cant stop reading in the book of mormon and he is super open. We just need to help him with some weid ideas that he has!

 I hope this baptism goes through, my comp really really needs it. He is the hardest working comp that I have had on my mission and I really like him! I feel bad for him because he works soooo hard and has not seen the success that he deserves! So I really really hope it goes through and im gonna do whatever it takes to help that go through! 

Oh well speakin of the fast that you and I both did. Well, it was really really good for me, I just got the impression that I cant give up this last little while and that I need to work my hardest that I have worked for these last 4 months. I know there is at least one more person out here that I need to help before I go, maybe more than just one but I do feel that these last 4 months are gonna be something special! 

Well let me think if there is anything else going on... Oh actualy I forgot to tell you... When I went to Berlin Elder Lloyd and I had to teach a lesson to all the Zone Leaders of the mission about how we apply the things that we learn from out leaders and not just sit and listen. It was really good, it was super easy because with a room full of Zone Leaders I have a pretty good crowd to work with and they answe every question hahaha... But it was fun, Its always fun going to Berlin, it's such a great city and super big, but I dont think that I could ever serve there is is a little too big for me, I like big cities but Berlin is like New York... Like there is traffic all day every day... Hamburg is Perfect size for me, I still love Hamburg sooo muc still one of my fav places! So I would say that Hamburg is my fav city but the ward here in Dresden is my fav, they are all just super super chill! I love them soo much and we have a really good relationship! 

 Oh and one more thing... We are alll super stoked... Next week we are all going to Berlin again so see Elder Bednar!!! Im super stoked!!! He is coming to talk to our mission I think that is is gonna be super cool but I can tell that Pres Kosak is a little nervous becasue he is having a conference this week in Dresden to teach all of the missionaries how to act in front of an apostle hahaha. I can understand though, with missionaries like me... I can see his stress hahaha 

Actualy another cool thing... So strange stoy... On the way back from berlin we ran into these two girls in the Berlin train station and they were from SLC, so they wanted to take pics and stuff with us and got to know us and stuff but then they asked me where I was from and I told them Alpine because no one knows Highland so thats just what I say. Anyway they asked me if I know Quade Schpue ( I dont think I spelled his name right hahah) I was like, yeah, then they told me that he is playing for the football team here in Dresden... In my city.... I was super suprised! I would love to contact him but I dont know how... Do you remember if he was a member? I just remember hearing his name at the Lone Peak games when I was younger... I dont know if you could look around or something and see what you could find out! :) 

Speakin of football... Im getttin worried about Ethan, Is he gonna play this season... I sure I hope so. Somthing funny that I have learned on my mission is that for some reason all the missionaries that played sprots but mainly football are amazing missionaries... I think it just teaches hard work or something... So Ethan needs to get in there, I know is a little hard but, I know how much it will help him if he sticks to it and keeps pusing hard! 

Oh no... Dad cant get older... how am I supose to wrestle him?? Im gonna be crushed if I come home and dont have a wrestling partner!!! I hope he had a good Bithday! He didnt look too excited in the pic that you sent to me hahaha . 

Well momma, I think that you made the right decission. I think if this whole thing goes through then you should do it! I think that it sounds like a lot of fun!! But im not really sure what you would be doing... Are you gonna be like a flight lady or something? Just wondering hahah! :) 

Well momma I love you all sooooo much and I miss you a lot! Thanks for all the love and support! 

Well hello there momma! This week was a good one! I dont remembet if I told you about the guy named Tony that we met last week but this guy is awesome!! We met him last week and didnt really have a chance to meet with him during the week but, he came to church yesterday and he told us how much he loves the book of mormon!!! He has read 260 pages in the book of mormon in a week he is half way through Mosiah!!! He is doing awesome, he does have some funky ideas but we will work with him. Right now he still believes in Holy Mary and stuff like that but, I dont blame him becasue he doesnt know better, he has been Catholic his whole life, so we will just talk to him about that today!! :) But besides that the week has been really good, we are doing a lot better here, the work is picking back up for me finialy. I feel like I have been in a droubt since I came to Dresden but now I feel like Im slowly coming out! ;)

Oh and speaking of that... Im flippin scared to come home and start dating.... How the flip am i suppose to do that? I have been talking to people about the Gospel for almost 2 years... How and i suppose to get a date when I come home hahah? 

Yahoooooo!!!! Im sooooo stoked that you got to meet the tennys!!! They are sooo awesome and funny, I hope you get a little more time to talk with them another time! I love them to death, they were like my fav couple on the mission! Sis tenny and I were buds we loved each other and she understood me kinda like you understand me. She was kinda like my momma in Germany for a little while! :) That's sooooo flippin cool that you got to see all  the missionaries form Germany!!! I hope you got to see elder Stephens, That guy changed my mission so if you had the chance he is the coolest guy in the world!! Im a little suprised that everyone said good things about me haha, no just kidding. I have meet some of the best people in my life on the mission, a lot of them will be friends forever! 

Oh no... Whats wron with Ethan!? I hope he is okay... This is really bad timing for that to happen... Was it in a drill or in a game? What happened? I hope he is doing good... Ugh... This will just make it really really hard to start later in the year...But you know what the same thing has happened to me my senior year... I hurt my ankle at the bigging of the year and then two games later I was starting. I think he will be fine but im still a little worried for him. From what I remember he gets down on him self really fast, so I hope he is doing okay...

Ellie looks like she is doing good, same ole thing with her hahaha. She looked like she had a little bit of attitude in that pic hahah. Oh and the kittens hahahahaha!! Funniest thing ever!!! :) 

HAHAHAH Well im glad dad had a quick recovery :) I thik its funny that everyone says that me and him look a like. I still thik I look more like you momma. But everyone says that dad and I look a like when they first meet me. Im glad I could make him proud!! I like making momma and dad proud, it kinda helps me feel like im doing something out here. Sometimes I have a hard time seeing that im actualy doing something because I dont take a look at the big picture! Thanks a lot!! :) 

Well momma...  I know you feel like you are gettin old but you are still young, you aint old till you're 60... Right now you are still young and I saw the pics of you and sis tenny and you are looking great! I dont know why you feel like you are gettin old? 

Well thanks for this amazing letter today! It ment a lot!!! I love you soooo much and I cant wait to come home again.... I think it is a good idea to fast this weekend.. Im in momma!!!
